MIDDLESBROUGH Mayor Dave Budd will lay the first poppy on the Field of Remembrance at the Cenotaph in Linthorpe Road, Middlesbrough at 11.05am on Thursday, November 9.
Those wishing to attend should assemble at the Cenotaph at 10.30am.
The Mayor and Civic Party will then move to the Town Hall where at around noon the Mayor will turn a page in each of the Books of Remembrance to honour the men and women from the Middlesbrough area who lost their lives in each of the two World Wars and other conflicts.
The Mayor will also attend the Remembrance Sunday Parade and Service on Sunday, November 12.
The Parade will form up at 10.30am ready to march up to the Cenotaph for the service, which should finish at around 12.30pm.
Following the march past, the parade will proceed from the Cenotaph to Park Road South, via Linthorpe Road to disperse in Park Road North.
