The actors want it, the fans want it….now PR guru Dean Midas Maynard is looking to turn Scream 5 from a dream into a reality.On Thursday, (April 14th) Dean tagged David Arquette aka Scream 1 to 4 character Dewey and the rest of the team in a tweet. On the morning of April 15th David retweeted it.
Dean, the CEO of Durham based Team Midas is hoping that Scream writer Kevin Williamson will pen a new script and will be joined by the remaining cast David Arquette, Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox and of course the voice of Ghostface, Mr Roger L Jackson.
Dean said “I still vividly remember going to watch Scream at the cinema. It blew my mind. I also remember the man who was sat in front of me, who before the film started was all loud and cocky but once the films terrifying opening with Drew Barrymore got going, he quickly sank down in his seat”
The film introduced us to a new horror icon called Ghost Face. The mask was brilliant and very, very scary and it is now one of the most famous and best selling Halloween costumes ever.
Dean is a huge fan of Scream, It is his all time favourite film. He is also a triple award winning horror short film producer. In fact, Dean Credits the Scream franchise & the late Wes Craven as the reason he got into filmmaking.
Looking at the figures, Scream 4 was made for $40 Million dollars, roughly 28 Million in pounds. Dean genuinely feels this is a target that is achievable. The Scream fans are loyal.
Dean concluded “I know if we got everyone on board, the fans would donate the money to make this film happen. So let’s SCREAM it from the rooftops…we want Scream 5”
