North East Connected

Hopping Across The North East From Hub To Hub

Local gallery draws in a new recruit

A Newcastle art gallery has bolstered its events team with a new appointment.

The Biscuit Factory, the UK’s largest independent commercial art, craft and design gallery located in the Ouseburn valley, has appointed Jade McKiernan as its new Wedding and Events Coordinator.

In her new role, Jade will be taking the lead on weddings, liaising with couples and converting enquiries into confirmed bookings. She will also coordinate each couple’s wedding and manage their entire client journey – from the initial enquiry through to their menu tasting, final details appointments and then running their special day.

Jade, who has a degree in Events Management from Liverpool John Moore’s University, has worked for award-winning hotels in the North East over the past four years and was awarded Wedding Coordinator of the Year alongside her colleague at last year’s North of England Wedding Awards.

Discussing her new role, Jade says: “I am extremely excited to have joined such a unique North East venue and look forward to selling all that The Biscuit Factory has to offer. From the truly unique backdrop of the gallery and exceptional in-house catering to our beautiful purpose built Biscuit Room and quirky urban location in the Ouseburn – it really is a city venue like no other.”

With an emphasis on individuality and quality, The Biscuit Factory is a stylish, creative venue perfect for couples seeking a wedding with an urban twist. Couples can say their vows in the first-floor gallery, with exposed brickwork and original ceiling beams all adding to the character of this space. Alternatively, The Biscuit Room – best described as a blank canvas – can be re-imagined into the wedding of a couple’s dreams.
