London Lions have announced the return of guard, Andre Lockhart, for a fourth successive season with the club.
Lockhart competed in the FIBA Americup Qualifiers with Barbados in the summer with the London-born guard ready for another season.
Following three years at Queens University in the USA, Lockhart arrived in the BBL in the 2010-11 season as he helped Newcastle Eagles to the runners-up spot in the BBL Championship.
After spells in back in Barbados and Germany, Lockhart returned to the UK in January 2014 and helped Essex Leopards finish as runners-up in NBL Division One before his first Lions’ appearance came in the 2015-16 season.
“Really happy for the chance to return back with the Lions for the fourth season,” he said.
“I would like to thank the coaching staff and other Lions management staff for giving me another chance to play for the Lions.
“This club and everyone has become a huge part of my life and more like family. We have the majority of our core returning with a few additions and we expect nothing less than improving
from last years’ success, as that chapter is now over.
“I’ve been working really hard this summer as I want to contribute everything I can to the team’s success, whether that’s playing defence on the toughest opponent, hitting open shots or creating for my team-mates.
“This season will be exciting, and I can’t wait to get it started.”
Lions’ head coach, Vince Macaulay added: “You always want hard-nosed competitors with you when you are trying to get it done.
“Andre has a high basketball IQ, he is always well prepared and on the floor he is very composed,
we won many games last season when short-handed where he guided us home.
“I’m very happy to be able to bring him back again, he epitomises what we are about here.”
Lockhart heads a strong cast of returning Lions: Justin Robinson, Joe Ikhinmwin, Brandon Peel, Paul Guede and Jerelle Okoro along with new additions, Jordan Spencer, Ladarius Tabb and Kervin Bristol.
