Hopping Across The North East From Hub To Hub

Loganair signs up for Boro sponsorship deal

As Middlesbrough FC prepare for their match against Norwich tonight the airline which will shortly begin daily flights between Durham Tees Valley Airport and the East Anglian capital city, has announced a new shirt sponsorship deal.

The logo of Loganair will be emblazoned on the back of Boro’s 2017/2018 away shirts, with the newly branded strip on display for the first time when the team plays at Barnsley on October Saturday October 14 — just hours before the airline begins its services from Durham Tees Valley to Norwich and Aberdeen.

As the exclusive Official Airline Partner for Middlesbrough FC, Loganair will also benefit from advertising opportunities afforded by the Riverside Stadium to fans at the games and across live TV coverage and highlights packages.

The new Loganair routes will see non-stop flights between East Anglia and the North East of England six-days per week, while also providing up to four daily direct services between the Tees Valley and Aberdeen during the working week, with one additional flight on a Sunday.

Passengers will also be able to travel from Norwich to Aberdeen on a one-stop-same-plane service via Durham Tees Valley in around two hours and 20 minutes, six days per week.

Alongside the regions, Middlesbrough FC will benefit from increased connectivity at DTVA, the nearest airport to the club, which will provide a welcome boost in visitors and present additional options for travelling fans to follow the team.

Commenting on the sponsorship deal, Kay Ryan, Commercial Director for Loganair, said “We are relaunching the air service between Durham Tees Valley Airport and Norwich after a gap of 20 years, bringing immediate value to businesses and communities in East Anglia and the Tees Valley region, and in particular those involved in the offshore energy industries.

“As a regional airline dedicated to serving the communities within which it operates, it was only fitting to partner with Middlesbrough FC – a team with a long history of supporting people in its own community around the Tees Valley.”

“We’re excited to be part of Middlesbrough’s future alongside Durham Tees Valley Airport and, in addition to the business benefit increased connectivity will bring to the region, we hope Boro fans and their families will also take advantage of the new service.”

Added Steve Gill, Chief Executive at Durham Tees Valley Airport “We are delighted that Loganair have further strengthened the links with Middlesbrough FC. Their sponsorship follows the agreement we reached with the club in August which now sees the airport logo and name on the back of their home game shirts.

“We are working with Loganair, as the newest carrier to Durham Tees Valley Airport, in developing ways to promote the routes they are now serving. Our joint sponsorship with the Boro will significantly enhance the profile of the new flights to Norwich and Aberdeen, and bolster our own partnership with Loganair which we are looking to grow in the coming months and years.”

Commented Lee Fryett, Head of Partnerships at Middlesbrough Football Club

“We are delighted to announce Loganair as the Club’s exclusive Official Airline Partner. The agreement will see the Loganair logo feature on the back of the first team’s away shirts for the 2017/18 season. We are already in partnership with Durham Tees Valley Airport and so it makes perfect sense to work with the airport’s newest carrier, in particular to promote the new routes and connectivity it offers to a big part of our fan base.”
