Four care homes, operated by Hill Care Group in Stockton-on- Tees and Middlesbrough, are organising the event to raise funds for the cancer support charity.

The coffee morning takes place between 10am-12pm on Thursday, September 29, at Ingleby Barwick Community Hall, Haresfield Way, Stockton-on- Tees.

Competition entrants are invited to bake a cake for the event, which will be judged by a MacMillan representative on the day.

Refreshments will be available and entertainment will also be provided.

The event is being organised by Stockton-on- Tees homes Ingleby Care Home, Lamb Lane in Ingleby Barwick, The Beeches Care Home, Green Lane in Newtown, Mandale House Care Home, Acklam Road in Thornaby, and Middlesbrough home The Gables Care Home, on Highfield Road.

Liz Jones, Customer Relations Officer for Hill Care Group, said: “The event is part of the wider MacMillan Coffee Morning, which is taking place across the UK and is the world’s largest coffee morning.

“It is the charity’s biggest fundraising event of the year and raised over £25million in 2015. We’ll be doing our bit by holding our coffee morning at the Ingleby Barwick Community Hall. It’s the perfect chance to catch-up over a cuppa and a slice of cake.

“We hope as many people will come along as possible and donate to such a worthy cause. One in three face cancer during their life and they should never face it alone.”
