Maggie’s, the charity which provides free practical, emotional and social support for people with cancer and their family and friends, is seeking to raise awareness of the programme of support it provides in the run up to National Cancer Survivors Day on the 7th June.

The film has been developed to raise vital awareness and understanding of the support Maggie’s provides so that the charity can reach more people living with cancer and their family and friends who need help finding their way through cancer.

The ‘More than Medicine’ film, is being supported by a social media campaign and to get involved please share the film by copying and pasting the below message or create your own message using the hashtag #morethanmedicine

We’re a growing charity and the Newcastle Centre saw over 16,000 visits last year and we hope the film will encourage more people to visit and support us in the work we do.”

Built in the grounds of Freeman Hospital  Maggie’s Newcastle is a warm and welcoming place, with qualified professionals on hand to offer an evidence-based core programme of support that has been shown to improve physical and emotional wellbeing.

Maggie’s Newcastle relies on voluntary donations to support and grow its network of Centres and to develop its unique, high quality programme of support. The charity’s aim is to make the biggest difference possible to people living with cancer and their family and friends.
