MAGIC fans of all ages can find themselves dazzled by tricks, jokes and a night of family fun at a special event next month.

The Family Magic Extravaganza, on Thursday 15 March, will host some of the North East’s best children’s entertainers for an evening of family friendly performances, sponsored by Magicbox, Newcastle.

The event forms part of the 15th annual South Tyneside International Magic Festival, which takes place from 15 – 18 March and includes a three-day convention for practising magicians as well as a number of gala shows which are open to the public.

The line-up for the family event includes Gary Dunn, a highly experienced children’s party entertainer with an act full of comedy and showmanship and compere Tony Junior, who is known for his sense of fun and light-hearted banter with the audience.

Award winning magician, Graeme Shaw will also be performing and has organised the Family Magic Extravaganza as part of his role as director of the festival sponsor, Magicbox.

“We look forward to the South Tyneside International Magic Festival every year as it’s such a big event on the magic community’s calendar and this year is looking like one of the best yet,” said Graeme.

“There has been a lot of preparation going on to pull everything together and we hope people of all ages have a fantastic night to kick off the start of the Magic Festival weekend.

“We’ve got an amazing line-up of really talented and experienced entertainers and I can’t wait to see the kids’ reactions when they see what some of the acts have planned.”

Councillor Alan Kerr, Deputy Leader of South Tyneside Council, with responsibility for Culture and Leisure, said: “The South Tyneside International Magic Festival is a great event for the North East and Graeme has done a wonderful job with the programme for the Family Magic Extravaganza.

“It is sure to be a brilliant night of fun for the whole family and I can’t wait to see the performances.”

The Family Magic Extravaganza starts at 6:30pm and tickets, priced at £8 each, can be purchased from The Customs House Box Office on 0191 454 1234.
