From Sunday 3rd December all of the magic of Christmas is coming to Mounsett House courtesy of Derek and Elaine Armstrong from Tyne Valley Motorhomes.

What started as a bit of fun for his grandchildren has escalated over the last few years and the Christmas light display at Mounsett is now a well-known event within the local community. Picture magical twinkling lights, animated displays and Christmas songs, an experience not to be missed which will guarantee to get you into the festive spirit.

The display takes about 2-3 weeks to erect and Derek makes many of the pieces himself, painstakingly painting Santas, elves, reindeer and penguins! This is a must see for anyone wanting to experience the magic of Christmas.

Everyone is welcome to come and have a look round the garden from 4.30pm and over the years Derek and Elaine have welcomed the local community and even friends from as far away as Exeter who make the journey up especially to see the lights!

Derek said:  “We are delighted at how our Christmas Lights display has grown over the years and the pleasure it brings to children and adults alike. The fact that we have been able to collect a lot of money in kind donations, which we give to local charities, is the icing on the cake.”

This year Derek has chosen to support Willow Burn Hospice and anyone who attends will have the opportunity to make a donation to the Hospice. Mounsett House is behind the New Plough, you won’t be able to miss it!
