To celebrate Mothering Sunday, on 15 March, Lumley Castle Hotel, Chester-le-Street, is inviting children of all ages to treat their mothers to lunch or afternoon tea in its spectacular state rooms.
From 12.30pm to 1.30pm, a four course lunch, including coffee and petit fours will be served in in the four star hotel’s Black Knight restaurant with each mother receiving a potted African violet, in honour of the occasion.
Then, between 3pm and 5pm, an afternoon tea consisting of handmade sandwiches, scones and cakes, will be served in the hotel’s Baronial Hall, to songs perfomed by the Ladies of the Court.
Alternatively, those wishing to add a little sparkle to the occasion, can opt for a glass of Prosecco with their afternoon tea.
Mothering Sunday lunch will cost £29.50 for adults and £16.50 for children aged 12 and under). Afternoon tea will be priced at £20 person with Prosecco afternoon tea costing £26.50.
