SUNDERLAND’S Stadium of Light will be offering the perfect match for mums next month with a special Mother’s Day lunch offer.
1879 Events Management, part of leisure brand SoL, has prepared a mouth-watering three-course menu exclusively for Mothering Sunday, which falls on 26 March.
Families can choose from three courses with coffee in the Montgomery Suite for £19.95, or push the boat out with a Champagne reception and lunch in the Riverview Brasserie, which will also include a special gift for mums.
Starters include seafood cocktail and chicken and smoked ham terrine, with a choice of mains such as roast beef and Yorkshire pudding, chicken with bacon lardons in red wine sauce and herb crusted fillet of salmon.
This will be followed by a choice of desserts including white chocolate and raspberry cheesecake or traditional apple crumble. A cheeseboard alternative is also available, as well as coffee and mints for all diners.
Rachel Divers, Head of Commercial Sales at SAFC, is expecting the day to be very popular and advises families to get booked in early to avoid disappointment.
“Mother’s Day is perhaps one of the busiest days of the year with Sunday lunch one of the most popular ways for people to show their mums and grandmothers how much they care,” she said.
“We believe every mum should be made to feel wonderful on this special day, and we’ve created a menu which has something to suit all tastes and is affordable for everyone too.”
The three-course Mother’s Day lunch in the Montgomery Suite costs £19.95 per person, with under-12s dining for half price. The Champagne reception lunch in the Riverview Brasserie with a free gift costs £26.95 per person.
