Hopping Across The North East From Hub To Hub

Manor Walks’ search for a singing star is now on

Manor Walks Cramlington is offering North East youngsters the chance to be in the limelight by performing at its stellar Christmas lights switch on.

A Star is Born singing competition is inviting aspiring young talent, aged between six and 17-years-old, the chance to take centre stage on Saturday 25th November and win an amazing cash prize of £500.

Budding singers can share their special talent by applying to take part in a live audition in front of a panel of judges on Saturday 18th November.

To apply for an audition slot send your name, age, and contact details to star@manorwalks.co.uk and a short explanation of why you love to sing as well as a video showing your talent. The judges would also love to know in advance which song you will perform at the live audition.

Following the audition selected finalists will be chosen to perform live at the A Star is Born final, as part of Manor Walks’ Christmas lights switch on Saturday 25th November.

Contestants will perform on stage before Santa throws the switch on this year’s spectacular Christmas lights.

On the day of the event, which is in association with Heart FM and Cramlington Town Council, a panel of judges will choose one lucky youngster to be crowned winner of A Star is Born who will win a £500 cash prize.

Bruno Coppola, General Manager at Manor Walks Shopping and Leisure, said: “We are excited to be holding A Star Is Born to find the region’s next singing sensation and can’t wait to hear local youngsters’ performances at our spectacular Christmas lights switch on.

“The festive season is a special time for everyone and we can’t wait to help make one lucky child’s dreams come true by crowning them the winner of A Star is Born and giving them a £500 cash prize – for a magical Christmas they will never forget.

“This fantastic event marks the start of Manor Walks’ Christmas celebrations which will run throughout November and December. Children can enjoy a free visit to Santa in his magical grotto, take part in our fun festive craft workshops and meet Mrs Claus and her special little helpers. There is definitely something for everyone to enjoy at Manor Walks this Christmas.”

John Collins, Chairman of Cramlington Town Council, said: “We are delighted to be supporting A Star is Born. We hope that this spectacular competition inspires the region’s talented young stars to showcase their vocal talents.

“It is such a wonderful opportunity to become the star of Cramlington’s illuminating festive celebrations and perform live on stage. You never know you might just be the next big star to come from the North East!

“So if you have a passion for singing please apply as we can’t wait to hear what you’ve got to sing.”

To apply send your name, age, and contact details to star@manorwalks.co.uk and a short explanation of why you love to sing as well as a video showing your talent before 12noon on Thursday 16th November.
