Manufacturing companies book for EMCON

Dozens of manufacturing and engineering companies from around the region have booked their place at this year’s EMCON event.

Among those to have confirmed they’ll be exhibiting are Advanced Handling, the Bignall Group, Advance Automation, Tinius Olsen and Hiatco.

Also booked up is engineering company M5Tec, which last year made its EMCON debut exhibiting within the Incubator Zone, an ERDF-funded programme to attract companies from County Durham who have never before been involved in an event like this.

David Land is Chairman of CDEMN, which manages and delivers EMCON. He said: “Following our rebrand a couple of months ago, and of course the success of last year’s event, there’s been an influx of bookings from manufacturing and engineering companies who are keen to showcase their services to potential new customers.

“And not only is it the bigger companies who are exhibiting; we’re delighted to see M5Tec returning after going through the Incubator Zone programme last year. It shows that companies are coming to our event and are winning work as a result, which is why they want to return.”

Craig Chalder is owner of M5Tec, an engineering consultancy offering services including mechanical and hydraulic engineering. He said: “We didn’t know what to expect when we exhibited last year but were very impressed with the contacts me made and have won work from those relationships.

“There were so many industry representatives in attendance, and the event is such a great opportunity for us to promote our business, that returning this year was a no brainer for us.”

Other companies who have signed up include Dyer Engineering, Eastern Seals, Stiller and E-Max Systems.

This year’s event is being sponsored by Stadler Rail UK, who are the event’s inaugural headline sponsor, and Business Durham, who are the gold sponsor. EMCON’s delivery partner is Jackson Hogg Recruitment.

EMCON returns to the Xcel Centre in Newton Aycliffe on Thursday, October 18. For updates, or to book as an exhibitor, visit emcon.show.
