Mayor to Unveil Ayresome’s new Early Years Facility

middlesbrough-moving-forwardA NEW facility offering enhanced early years provision at a Middlesbrough school will be officially opened by Mayor Dave Budd later this month.

Park House at Ayresome Primary offers care and education for two-year-olds, building on the Early Years Quality Mark awarded to the school in May.

A new team of highly qualified and experienced staff have been welcoming new starters since the start of term following renovation of the Park House building.

The development at the Worcester Street school provides 15 hours of education each week for eligible two-year-old children within the school’s catchment area.

Park House will enhance youngsters’ learning and development from an early age, supporting their language and communication and providing a wide range of exciting activities and opportunities to stimulate their personal, social and emotional development.

Councillor Jan Brunton, Middlesbrough Council’s Executive Member for Education and Skills, said: “Early years education is a vital part of children’s development, so the opening of Park House at Ayresome is a really exciting development.

“The new facility will ensure they have the best possible start to their education in a safe, stimulating and nurturing environment.”

Ayresome Primary Headteacher Lisa Biggin is clear about the ambitious vision for the school: “Ayresome is a unique, vibrant community and the school needs to offer education from the youngest access delivering the highest calibre and provision.

“Park House at Ayresome will achieve that goal.

“We are very proud of the commitment that the 0-19 Team at Middlesbrough Council and our Governing Body have made towards making this community ambition a reality.”

Children who are eligible for funding will be able to attend morning or afternoon sessions (8.45am – 11.45am or 12.30pm – 3.30pm) and access a wide range of play, exploration and sensory activities.
