Middlesbrough boxing superstar, Joe Maphosa has made waves in the ring and is looking to remain undefeated in his upcoming ninth pro boxing match. Maphosa started life in Zimbabwe before his family moved to England in 2002. Studying at St Pius School Joe had an overall interest in sport from a young age, enjoying playing football and cricket. His love of sport and exercise progressed to boxercise before he finally found his calling in boxing at Middlesbrough ABC where he studied and trained under Tony Whitby.

Maphosa’s years of dedication paid off and as an amateur he was selected to box for team GB ahead of Rio 2016 and travelled the world going to Finland, Germany and Turkey. It wasn’t much longer before Joe turned pro signing with revered boxing promoter Frank Warren. Now undefeated with a pro record of 8-0, Joe Maphosa aspires to getting a title shot but not before his upcoming contest in July.

Maphosa is set to fight again on July 6th. The event will be at Lancastrian Suite and is promoted by Black Flash Promotions and Frank Warren’s Queensberry Promotions. The contest will be Joe’s first 8 round match as a pro and he’ll be entering the ring with the support of his home town, Middlesbrough, and his local business sponsor Online Influx (https://onlineinflux.co.uk/). Middlesbrough based marketing agency, Online Influx are proud sponsors of Joe Maphosa and are helping him share his story online with his new website ( joemaphosa.co.uk ) in the hopes that it not only promotes the Maphosa brand but inspires youngsters and teaches them the benefits of hard work.

Daniel Atkinson, of Online Influx, said “Joe is not only fantastically talented but a great person. Working with him has been a pleasure and we [Online Influx] look forward to being a continued part of his journey”.

Inspired by Floyd Mayweather, Muhammad Ali and Bernard Hopkins, Joe wants to in turn inspire a younger generation. His ambition is to reach the top of his sport, bring a world title back to his home town of Middlesbrough and share further success with his loyal fans.
