Star Wars Stormtroopers and Darth Vader are set to be the star attractions at the Dundas Sci Fi Event in Middlesbrough’s Dundas Shopping Centre this Saturday (6 April) from 10am to 4pm.

The North East Legion independent Star Wars based costume group will be bringing Darth Vader, Storm Troopers and other characters from the hit film to pose for photographs.

On top of this, there will be more than 20 Science Fiction and Fantasy themed stalls selling a range of unique gifts.

Organised by Jon Dea, the man behind other successful local markets and events such as Kirkleatham Sci Fi and Comic Con and the Dundas Handmade and Vintage market, the free Dundas Sci Fi Event will have fun for all the family.

Mr Dea says: “Whatever interests you about Sci-fi or fantasy, there is going to be something for everyone at our event, with unique goods to buy, characters to meet, plenty to look at, and fellow enthusiasts to talk to.”

Dundas Market Manager David Harris says: “This has been our most popular event for the past two years, attracting hundreds of enthusiasts, so we are delighted to be holding it once again.  While they are browsing the sci-fi and fantasy, our visitors can also sample some hot food, treats, breads and cakes from Jean’s Kitchen, Indy’s Grub To Go, Cooplands, and the Little Vegan Market, as well as taking a look at Forbidden Planet, Games Workshop, The Festival Shop, B&M, and all our other retailers.”

Customer car parking is available in the 178-space Dundas Shopping Centre basement car park, accessed off Wilson Street.  Further information from www.dundasshoppingcentre.co.uk or via @DundasShopping on Facebook and Twitter.
