CHRISTMAS has come early for one lucky Bedlington mum thanks to a generous donation just in time for the festive season from Miller Homes North East.
Mum Tracy Scott is the lucky winner of £250 after the leading housebuilder joined the festivities at Bedlington West End First School’s Christmas fair, donating the top prize for the school’s annual Christmas raffle.
All money raised from the raffle’s ticket sales will be used to treat the school’s pupils to a special Christmas trip to the theatre, with the older year groups due to visit Whitley Bay Playhouse to see Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, while the younger year groups enjoy Bedlington’s Hunter Theatre Arts’ performance of Up and Out Christmas Sprout.
Andrew Somerville, Miller Homes North East’s regional sales manager, said: “We’re always keen to support the local areas where we are building sustainable communities. Our new development in Bedlington, The Acres, is located just down the road from Bedlington West End First School so we were proud to be able to support its Christmas fair.

Jane Bushell, headteacher at Bedlington West End First School, said: “Each year our Christmas fair is organised by our Parent Teachers and Friends Association and helps us to give something back to our pupils and their families. Without the help of generous organisations like Miller Homes this would not be possible.
“It is important that our pupils learn that they are part of a community and that community members help each other, which is exactly what Miller Homes has done thanks to the fantastic raffle prize donation, which really helped to boost ticket sales and saw us raise £1,500 for the children’s Christmas trip.”
