Hopping Across The North East From Hub To Hub

Motability specialist joins Bristol Street Motors Nissan Darlington

Bristol Street Motors Nissan Darlington has appointed Motability specialist Max Evans to its team.

Max has been in the motor retail industry for more than 30 years, of which the last 25 have been spent working with Motability customers. During that time he has helped thousands of people with disabilities in Tees Valley to stay mobile and independent through the Scheme, which lets people exchange their Government funded mobility allowance for a brand new vehicle.

Max said: “I’ve been connecting customers with the Motability Scheme for more than two decades and I’m still shocked at the number of people who don’t know about the Scheme. Many of them are already spending more than the Motability allowance payment they would exchange to take part in the scheme, which just doesn’t make sense. Worry Free Motoring is the Schemes best description as customers not only receive a new car every three years; it also includes insurance, servicing and repairs, tyre and windscreen replacement and breakdown assistance

“Motability is genuinely life-changing for many people and I love being part of that. It gives them independence and can make a massive difference to their self-esteem and overall quality of life.

“I am constantly surprised by how amazing and effective vehicle adaptations have become. I’ve dealt with a couple of customers who have very limited arm movement, yet through the careful selection of vehicle adaptations both customers were able to drive away in a Motability vehicle and surprisingly many adaptations can be fitted free of charge.”

The Motability scheme enables disabled people to exchange their Higher Rate Motability Component of Disability Living Allowance, their Enhanced Rate of the Mobility Component of Personal Independence Payment (PIP), their War Pensioners Mobility Supplement (WPMS) or their Armed Forces Independence Payment (AFIP) for a new car, scooter or powered wheelchair. Since it was set up in 1978, Motability has helped more than 3 million people get mobile with a brand new vehicle. Many vehicles are available on Motability from Nil advance payment.
