The Renault Kangoo is playing a key role in helping garages keep their customers on the road following Motor Parts Direct (MPD), one of the UK’s leading motor factors, taking delivery of over 300 vans to strengthen its nationwide delivery fleet and support growing demand for its services.
The new Kangoo vans will be used to deliver motor parts daily from MPD’s 184 nationwide branches to independent and franchised workshops nationwide, ensuring customers can keep vehicles on the road with minimal downtime.
Supplied via Pentagon Corporate Fleet, part of Motus Group UK (Pentagon and MPD also being part of the wider Motus Group SA), the order reflects MPD’s expanding footprint. Circa 240 of the vans will replace existing fleet vehicles, with the remaining supporting new branches and organic growth.
The vans are all in Advance specification, which offers such standard features as the EASY LINK display with 8-inch touchscreen, DAB radio, Bluetooth and USB ports, automatic headlights and rain sensitive front windscreen wipers, wireless smartphone replication, and smartphone integration with Android AutoTM and Apple CarPlayTM. Additionally, each has been equipped with ply lining and floor protection.
Powered by the efficient, full Euro 6D dCi 95 engine that is paired to a six-speed manual gearbox, the vans are each expected to cover an average of 110 miles per day, operating 24 days a month, over a planned four-year/120,000-mile replacement cycle.
The award-winning Kangoo was chosen following a competitive tender. Renault’s attractive pricing, combined with the strength of its nationwide dealer network and the excellent aftersales support MPD has already experienced, were decisive factors in awarding the contract.
Once the new order is completed in June 2026, Renault vehicles will make up over a third of the company’s operational delivery fleet.
Keith Rylance, Fleet Operations and Asset Manager at Motor Parts Direct, said: “Our drivers cover thousands of miles every day to ensure our customers get the parts they need quickly and reliably. The Renault Kangoo offers the right balance of total cost of ownership, specification and support, which makes it an excellent fit for our business. This order helps us not only to refresh our fleet but also to expand into new areas as we continue to grow.”
Justin Costello, Head of Fleet, Renault UK, said: “Motor Parts Direct’s decision to expand its fleet with 300 Kangoo vans underlines the model’s reputation for practicality, efficiency and dependability in demanding business environments. The fact that MPD has already experienced first-hand the strength of our aftersales support shows the value we can bring beyond the vehicle itself. We look forward to supporting their operations nationwide.”
