A high profile spa and well being specialist from Darlington is taking on a lead role in promoting the UK’s spa sector throughout 2016.
Liz Holmes, highly regarded for establishing Rockliffe Hall’s spa as one of the best in Europe, is working with well-known names from the spa sector to ensure that the UK has a world-leading role in 2016’s Global Wellness Day.
Now in its fourth year, the not-for-profit day takes place on June 11th 2016 and celebrates wellness and healthy living. Global Wellness Day was established by volunteers from across the world’s spa industry who are dedicated to living well and improving the lives of others.
Liz, who is now national health and beauty director for Virgin Active Health Clubs nationwide, is the UK’s global ambassador for Global Wellness Day, which is marked in over 70 countries. Liz has already established support from some of the country’s leading wellness names including the Spa at Ramside Hall in Durham, Virgin Active and Bannatyne’s health clubs.
Organisers are now encouraging spas from around the North East and North Yorkshire to pledge their support and get involved with Global Wellness Day to showcase how their teams and services promote wellbeing.
The day, which has the slogan ‘One day can change your whole life’, brings together exercise, healthy eating and spiritual teachings and hopes to raise awareness about living well throughout the world.
Liz Holmes said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for spas and health clubs to reach new customers and markets by showcasing what they offer and providing advice relating to health and wellness. The North East and Yorkshire have some of the best spas in the UK and it is a thriving sector, hence we hope that the UK will play a leading role in Global Wellness Day by offering activities for people from all walks of life to get involved in.
“We are really pleased to be able to announce our plans with the backing of the Spa at Ramside, Virgin Active and Bannatyne’s who have pledged their support and will be hosting a range of events leading up to the day and on the day itself too.”
