A restructuring and insolvency firm operating across the North East and Yorkshire has appointed a new Associate Director to help develop its business advisory work and accelerate its strategic growth.

Gary Lumby MBE FCIBS, has joined BWC, which specialises in corporate recovery and insolvency solutions, bringing years of experience as a non-executive director in banking and consultancy.

BWC has a collaborative approach to insolvency and rescue, which maximises the outcome for stakeholders in complex turnaround and insolvency cases, and Gary’s expertise will be particularly useful on turnaround assignments.

Gary, who has built a notable profile in the business community across the North East and Yorkshire, including as a consultant, said: “I’m excited about the way BWC has grown its presence in the North East year on year since its formation and have admired its professional, ethical and practical approach to assisting businesses in financial difficulty for many years.

“I’m looking forward to supporting the BWC team in reaching out to those who need specialist skills to find the right financial solution for their businesses.”

Founded in 2004 with a mission to rescue as many businesses as possible, BWC is an independent firm with offices across Yorkshire and the North East. Partner Martyn Pullin added: “Gary is a hugely respected member of the professional community. With ever increasing demands for our advisory and turnaround services, Gary’s experience, banking background and connections make him a real asset to our business rescue team, further enhancing our offering across the region.”
