Thirteen invited some of its partners including the Mayor of Middlesbrough, Andy Preston and Dilys Jones, head of home ownership and supply at Homes England to see the progress on one of its new build developments, which is well underway.

The new homes at Roworth Road in Middlesbrough are being delivered by Thirteen in partnership with Gus Robinson Developments Ltd, the Hartlepool-based construction company acquired by Thirteen Homes last year. It has also received funding support from Thirteen’s Strategic Partner, Homes England.

This is a fantastic development of 89 homes off Cargo Fleet Lane in Middlesbrough which will provide 57 two and three bedroomed houses and 32 two and three bedroomed bungalows for affordable rent.

The first homes are expected to be available from Spring 2020.

Chris Smith, Thirteen’s executive director of service delivery and development, said:

“It was a pleasure to welcome our partners to Roworth Road and show them some of the great work we’ve been doing to deliver much needed affordable homes for rent in Middlesbrough.

“At Thirteen we are committed to providing high-quality homes which we want our customers to live in, and this is a fantastic housing and regeneration project, representing a significant investment that’s helping to meet the area’s housing need.

“This is the first scheme we’ve delivered with Gus Robinson Developments since it joined our group. We’re really enjoying working alongside the team, and we’re excited that our new working relationship will deliver huge benefits to our future customers.”

Steve Bell, managing director of Gus Robinson Developments Ltd, said:  “The Roworth Road project is really coming together now, and we are starting to see what a great place to live the new development will be.

“The modern, spacious homes are progressing well, and we are all looking forward to the first homes being occupied.  Being part of Thirteen Group has really made a difference to the delivery of this project.  We have worked closely with Thirteen’s development team, taking a truly collaborative approach to the development process, tackling problems together, finding the best value solutions and maximising quality for our customers.”

Middlesbrough Mayor Andy Preston said: “It’s fantastic to see modern, affordable homes like these being built in key locations across Middlesbrough.

“That’s made possible thanks to a great partnership between Thirteen and Homes England which I’m sure will pave the way for many future developments.

“These houses are just what people are looking for, and I’m sure they’ll be snapped up in no time when they become available in the next few months.”
