New homes released for sale on former hospital site in Stannington

A new selection of homes being built on the former St Mary’s Hospital site in Stannington have gone on sale.

They are part of an exclusive collection of just 23 properties which form the latest phase of Bellway’s Stannington Park development.

The two and three-bedroom terraced, semi-detached and detached houses also represent the next stage of the Newcastle-based developer’s regeneration of the 136-acre site off Green Lane.

A total of 247 homes have already been delivered on the site by Bellway – 165 in a previous phase of Stannington Park and 82 at the neighbouring Stannington Mews development, where several of the old hospital buildings have been converted into new housing.

This latest phase of 23 homes is being built on land to the north of the completed properties, and will feature house types from Bellway’s Artisan Collection, a flagship range of homes combining traditional craftsmanship with modern construction techniques.

Among the Artisan homes currently available to buy are the two-bedroom terraced Joiner, priced from £169,995, and the three-bedroom semi-detached Tailor, which starts from £209,995.

Emma Chesterton, Head of Sales at Bellway North East, said: “Featuring designs from our new Artisan range, this exclusive collection of homes at Stannington Park will provide a distinctive and characterful addition to the wider development.

“The new homes are being built around a central landscaped area, and each property will have allocated parking in addition to eight visitor car parking spaces.

“Residents will have access to plenty of open space and other amenities that have been created as part of the site’s regeneration, including a community centre and gastropub.

“Stannington Park offers a picturesque countryside setting as well as excellent transport links. Just a 10-minute drive from Morpeth and its mainline railway station, the development also offers easy access to the A1, making it a convenient location for those commuting to Newcastle.

“We expect ethe mix of two and three-bedroom houses to be popular with first-time buyers, families and commuters, and given the small number of properties within this final phase, I would encourage anyone interested in buying here to get in touch with us as soon as possible.”
