Ryedale District Council is working closely with both its  Markets in Helmsley and Pickering to give them a revitalised look  in time for Christmas. New banners will be personalised to each market and use the ‘love your local market’ logo.

Beckie Bennett Head of Environment, Streetscene and Facilities at Ryedale District Council said “Ryedale is made up of five charming  market towns, and the markets are a key part of Ryedale’s local economy.”

” We are looking forward to building a closer working relationship with our market traders and improving the promotion of Ryedale’s  markets to support local businesses through a number of initiatives to attract more visitors to the area and encourage community support”.

Helmsley Market takes place every Friday and Pickering Market takes place every Monday. With a vast array of goods on offer, from fresh local produce to high street fashion at competitive prices. Why not visit your local market and take the opportunity to cross a few things off the Christmas list!

Ryedale District Council is also supporting Helmsley In Business with their Small Business Saturday Event (Saturday 5 December) by offering a parking concession in Cleveland Way Car Park of £1.50 for all day parking.  For further details of what’s on please visit  www.visithelmsley.co.uk/whats-on/christmas-small-business-saturday-sbs/
