Hopping Across The North East From Hub To Hub

New promotional campaign for Hambleton Markets

Markets in Hambleton are on the up – thanks to a major promotional campaign led by the district council’s Vibrant Market Towns project team.

The weekly markets in Bedale, Easingwold, Northallerton, Stokesley and Thirsk – as well as monthly Farmers Markets in Stokesley and Easingwold – are all benefitting from the initiative.  It has seen a rebranding exercise and new promotions through a range of channels including a new consumer page at hambleton.gov.uk/markets

So far 25,000 new leaflets have been delivered to households across the district  which is also available at Tourist Information Centres throughout North Yorkshire and the Tees Valley as well as  accommodation providers, market traders and operators and libraries.

And an advertising campaign with TFM Radio aired for the first time at Easter –  will be repeated in the summer and before Christmas.

“Bustling markets are a traditional feature of vibrant market towns,” said Councillor Mrs Isobel Sanderson, Portfolio Holder for Governance (pictured).  “This campaign is highlighting the benefits and importance of Hambleton markets – both to local residents and visitors.”

  • A ‘Bank Holiday Open Market’ is taking place at Thirsk on Monday 7 May – All traders whether they are regular traders or casual traders are encouraged to pitch up and book a place as long as they have public liability insurance.
