A YOUNG accountant has been promoted to assistant manager after proving her skills at a local firm.
Lisa Fletcher, 26, started at chartered accountants and business advisers Clive Owen LLP immediately after receiving her A-level results in July 2008.
Over the past eight years, she has proven her ability, working with clients in sectors as diverse as food production and medieval glass, and has now been promoted to assistant manager of the York office.
The recognition comes in the wake of Lisa receiving both Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) accreditation in September 2011 and Associate of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) accreditation in August 2014, receiving the news on her wedding day that she had qualified as a Chartered Accountant.
In her current role, Lisa handles audits for SMEs, charities and academies, as well as preparing accounts for sole traders, partnerships and LLPs. She is also heavily involved in the regional audits and consolidation for a Central Government body.
Lisa said: “I’m delighted to have been given this opportunity to progress to the next level in my career. I’m looking forward to the new challenges the job will bring and feel confident that my work with the firm so far has prepared me well for them.”
Terry Doyle, partner at Clive Owen LLP’s York office, congratulated Lisa on the promotion. He said: “It’s always great to see talented individuals fulfil their potential. As a company, we are committed to staff development and this appointment shows that hard work really does pay off.”
