A NEW housing development providing bungalows and family homes in Hartlepool has welcomed its tenants.

Trish Buck, 54, who has moved into a new two bedroom bungalow at Raby Gardens with husband Mark, has described the move as ‘transforming her life’.    Living only a few doors away in a fantastic family home is daughter Samantha Francis, 26, partner Gary and six year old Oliver.

Trish, who has had a number of serious back operations over the last few years, was living upstairs in her previous property, as she was unable to manage the stairs.   Her quality of life was greatly diminished, she was in considerable pain and often unable to go out.

Since moving into the bungalow her life has changed immeasurably and she and Mark can be involved in Oliver’s life, looking after him in the school holidays and doing the ‘school run’ when Gary and Samantha are at work.

Samantha and Gary have had some bad experiences in the private rented sector but are now happily settled in their new three bedroom house with Oliver’s school only a few minutes away.

Trish said:  “It is no exaggeration to say that my life has been transformed since moving to Raby Gardens.

“I feel very lucky to have the new bungalow and am loving living here.   Having Samantha and her family so close by is fantastic and we’ve all settled in really well.”

Raby Gardens on Chatham Road, Hartlepool, offers a range of high-spec spacious properties developed by Housing Hartlepool, a partner in the Thirteen Group.

The development features 33 properties made up of six bungalows, six three bedroom homes and 21 two bedroom homes, with one for shared ownership and the rest for affordable rent.

The two bedroom homes, which have been exclusively designed for Thirteen, offer a dining kitchen, lounge, ground floor toilet and a family bathroom on the first floor.

With security alarm and A-rated boilers, the desirable properties also benefit from plenty of storage space plus off street parking, turfed gardens and a garden shed. Many also have a built in oven, hob and extractor fan.

The development is only a short distance away from the town centre with its Middleton Grange Shopping Centre, Maritime Experience and transport links.

Martin Hawthorne, Director of Development and Regeneration for Thirteen, the parent company of Housing Hartlepool, said: “Raby Gardens is a lovely development providing much-needed affordable, quality housing in the Tees Valley.

“We’re thrilled that it has made such a difference to the lives of Trish and her family and hope all the residents will become a real community.”
