If finding a dream job is high on your list of New Year’s resolutions, the new one-to-one careers advice service from Career Connect could help transform your working life in 2026. The north west employability charity is launching personalised sessions to help anyone feeling stuck in a rut with work, whether they’re considering a complete career change or simply looking for a more rewarding role.
Designed for adults of all ages, the bespoke sessions are led by Career Connect’s expert careers advisers, who are professionally qualified to help people identify key skills, strengths and interests that could lead to their next career move. The sessions build in coaching and active listening techniques to ensure a truly personalised meeting. Conveniently delivered online, the 45-minute sessions focus on exploring each individual’s potential and include a clear plan of action for achieving personal career goals.
Drawing on years of experience in guiding people towards the right career path, Career Connect’s qualified careers advisers excel at helping individuals build the confidence to move forward professionally. They also provide up-to-date knowledge of jobs markets and the latest industry trends, helping people make informed decisions and plan for their career development.
Paul Williams, Careers Adviser at Career Connect, said: “Considering how much time we spend at work, being content in our jobs can make a huge difference to our overall happiness and wellbeing. In the same way a personal trainer helps us reach our fitness goals, a careers adviser plays a key role in keeping our working lives on track.
“Gone are the days of having a job for life, with the average British worker now switching jobs every five years. We want to change the narrative around careers guidance by encouraging people to check in with an adviser, especially if they haven’t had a careers conversation since their school days.
“Everyone’s career journey is different, which is why our new one-to-one careers guidance service is tailored to suit the individual. Sessions focus on exploring ideas and overcoming barriers to future progression, rather than telling people what to do. Many of the roles that are in high demand today didn’t even exist 10 years ago, so it can be useful to see the jobs market from a different perspective. A careers MOT really can be life changing.”
Career Connect’s careers advice service is open to everyone from recent graduates and school leavers to CEOs as well as those switching careers or facing redundancy. Sessions are available with a 20 percent discount throughout January and can be booked online. Career Connect also offers bespoke career planning sessions for young people, as well as personalised CV support to help applications meet the requirements of AI screening, which is becoming increasingly common in recruitment.
Career Connect was recently named Careers Provider of the Year in the CDI UK Career Development Awards. All careers advisers delivering the new sessions are Level 6 qualified and actively deliver guidance for adults, and in schools and colleges across the UK.
Career Connect is a charity and any surplus made from sales of the guidance sessions is invested back into services, helping Career Connect in its mission to empower even more people – including some of the most vulnerable – to move forward and access employment, education and training.
