NEW ZEALAND IN DEPTH RAISE £5,500 FOR MARIE CURIE

Newcastle based Charity Escapes has worked in partnership with New Zealand In Depth to raise £5500 at the Superdrug Supertopic Ball, held at The Roundhouse in Camden in aid of the terminal illness charity, Marie Curie.

The winning bid will see lucky donor embark on a New Zealand adventure including two nights at Kauri Cliffs Luxury Lodge on the North island; two nights at the Bay of Many Coves in the Marlborough Sounds; one night in a PurePod completely off the grid, one night in a luxury suite in Te Anau and an overnight boat trip on the magical Doubtful Sound.

“As the UK’s leading New Zealand travel experts, we wanted to donate an incredible experience to help raise money for the incredible work that Marie Curie do,” said Paul Carberry, founder of New Zealand In Depth. “The winners are now finding the best time to embark on their personalised trip which will take them on a seven day adventure across the country.”

Charity Escapes is a not for profit organisation that has developed a simple and free-to-use service for holiday operators and hotels willing to donate prizes to charity. Its model means holiday operators benefit from targeted marketing campaigns as well as helping to raise money for charity. These campaigns are delivered through charity partnerships and their networks enabling them to reach thousands of potential new customers.

Hannah Harding, Senior Corporate Account Manager at Marie Curie, said: “We are grateful to Charity Escapes and New Zealand In Depth for providing this holiday experience as a prize at the Superdrug SuperTropic Ball this year. This donation contributed to a fantastic evening of fundraising and helped to take our partnership total with Superdrug to £5 million. All the money raised allows Marie Curie to continue to provide vital care and support for people, and their families, living with a terminal illness.”

Charity Escapes Manager, Carly Sells, said: “Our ambition is to be the charity partner for the hotel and holiday sector, working together to help raise millions of pounds for good causes across the UK.

“We are delighted to have managed this successful donation for New Zealand In Depth. It was an amazing prize, which created a real buzz when auctioned at the Supertopic Ball and generated a fantastic amount of money for Marie Curie.

“In return for the prizes, we ask the charities to promote the donor through their networks, using social media and promotion at the events themselves.

“This model ensures the most amount of money is raised, and the donor, in this case New Zealand In Depth was rewarded for its generosity with a return on investment.   It’s a win, win partnership.”
