A North East restaurant is dishing up its take on a British classic with the launch of its new weekly offer.

artisan, located in The Biscuit Factory – the UK’s largest independent art, craft and design gallery – is debuting its all-new Fish Friday menu this Friday 27 October.

Every week, the restaurant’s award-winning head chef Andrew Wilkinson will be plating up freshly caught, locally sourced fish from the Hodgson’s Fish day boats in Hartlepool, with artisan’s signature twist.

Diners can expect a host of seasonal garnishes that subtly encompass the tastes, textures and aromas of classic fish and chips.

For its first outing, the restaurant will be serving Steamed Day Boat Brill with Crisp Goujons, Warm Mussel Tartare and a Salt and Vinegar Gel.

Restaurant manager, Robin Price explains: “Following the success of our British Classics menu a few months ago, which saw our chefs plate up original interpretations of dishes such as apple crumble, sausage roll and marmalade on toast, we decided to apply this creative approach to another staple – fish and chips. We’ll only have limited numbers of fish each week though, so we suggest diners pre-book to avoid disappointment.”

The Fish Friday menu will be available between 5.30pm and 9.30pm and includes two mains and a bottle of wine for £35.

Booking is essential. For more information, visit www.artisannewcastle.com or follow @artisan_NE.
