Young Newcastle United forward Alex Gilliead has joined League Two side Luton Town on loan.
The 20-year-old has linked up with Nathan Jones’ men, and will stay at Kenilworth Road until January 2017.
Gilliead spent most of last season on loan at another fourth tier club, Carlisle United, where he made 41 appearances, scoring five goals.
He began this season in the Magpies’ Under-23 side, featuring in their first two Premier League 2 games of the season against Norwich City and West Ham United.
And Gilliead, an England Under-20 international, could make his league debut for the Hatters against Wycombe Wanderers on Saturday.
