The owners of the popular Jam Jar bar and restaurant, based in Jesmond, are launching Summer Storeys, a trio of exclusive urban food and drink events, which will take place on the roof of the Barrack Road car park at St James’ Park, offering stunning views across the city.

Summer Storeys will bring together a variety of DJs, live musicians and independent street food and drink vendors from in and around Newcastle, including Fat Hippo, Manny’s Pizza, The Grind, Lola Jeans, Mamma Zen, OCC, Manjit’s Kitchen and many more.

The launch event takes place on Friday, August 19 from 5pm – 11pm, followed by two further events on Saturday, August 20 from 12pm – 11pm, and Bank HolidaySunday, August 28 from 1pm -11.30pm.

Tickets for Summer Storeys cost £3 per person and are available to buy online at http://www.notjustaticket.com/events/view/827/summer-storeys or on the door. Families and pets are welcome.

Organiser Josh Rose, co- director of Jam Jar Jesmond, said: “Newcastle’s food and drink scene is thriving, especially with the growing number of exciting street food concepts on offer, and we wanted to celebrate that by organising a series of exclusive summer get-togethers in a unique city centre rooftop location.

“When we were researching locations, we decided that there’s no better place to host a rooftop party than right next to St James’ Park – one of the city’s most famous and best loved spots.

“We’ll be transforming the Barrack Road car park into a hidden urban ‘concrete jungle’ haven, where people can relax in the sunshine, soak up beautiful views of the city, enjoy great music and taste fantastic food and drink from some of Newcastle’s best independent traders.”
