NHS Business Services Authority CEO signs Armed Forces Covenant as mark of commitment

NHS Business Services Authority’s (NHSBSA) previous chief executive signed the Armed Forces Covenant in 2018. Now the current chief executive, Michael Brodie, has signed an updated version to show the organisation’s continuing and enduring commitment.

Established by the government, the covenant focuses on helping members of the armed forces community to have the same access to government and commercial services and products as any other citizen.

NHSBSA, which has headquarters in Newcastle, supports the armed forces community in a number of ways..   has an active Armed Forces colleague network, which provides a space for colleagues to come together as a support network, promote awareness of key issues and identify any potential barriers in policies and procedures. The NHSBSA actively drives a Veteran Support Partnership with key regional employers and also provides 10 days additional leave for reservists to attend training.

Michael Brodie, Chief Executive at NHSBSA said: “We value our colleagues very highly and we proudly work together as an organisation to support the Armed Forces community.

“NHSBSA’s Veteran’s Support Strategy looks at how best to employ, develop and fully support our Armed Forces community.

“We benefit from the great skills, knowledge and expertise that our veterans provide, and we advocate the benefits of supporting them by also encouraging other organisations to sign the Armed Forces Covenant.”
