North East engineering firm celebrates award success

Renown Group, based in Cramlington, has won a Supplier Recognition Award from aerospace and defence business Lockheed Martin UK, in appreciation of the ongoing expert contribution Renown has made to one of their programmes.

Lockheed Martin UK utilised Renown Groups fabrication and manufacturing services on the Warrior Capability Sustainment Programme (WCSP) with great success. The project took six months to complete and involved a high quality skill set in fabrication and machining as well as excellent client-supplier communication.

Jimmy Sinclair, Renown Group’s Operations Manager, has said about the achievement: “This award is a fantastic recognition for the work that has been put into this project. Our engineering team has worked closely with the client to deliver complex components to the assembly line where communication has been key, and we are delighted to receive this award.”

Tom Moody, Renown Engineerings Technical Manager, who began at Renown as a Northumbria University KTP associate, was particularly commended for his excellent communication, detailed updates, quick turnarounds, and a general high level of customer service skills. Tom said: “We are glad to see the relationship between operators and suppliers advancing, with Renown Group contributing towards communication improvements as demonstrated in the Lockheed Martin project.”
