Hopping Across The North East From Hub To Hub

North East firm helps power clinic expansion

Part of a landmark development in suburban Newcastle is to be transformed by a local firm as part of the expansion of a family aesthetic business.

Newcastle-based Aptus Fit Out, a specialist in commercial fit-outs and refurbishments, has been appointed by LASE Cosmetic to deliver their new clinic at The Jesmond, located on the site of the old Jesmond Picture House.

With a track record of delivering fit-out projects for the medical sector, Aptus has been tasked with designing and creating the new second floor clinic, which will open later this year.

Established in 2011 by husband and wife team Ahmed and Lisa Ali-Khan, LASE Cosmetic provides surgical and non-surgical aesthetic procedures from its multiple sites across the North East.

Managing director, Mr Ali-Khan, a consultant plastic surgeon, explained: “Everything we’ve done over the last eight years at LASE has been about quality and standards. The new clinic will be no different. We have always promoted safety, integrity and honesty in our industry.

“Of all the companies we looked into for helping us realise this plan, Aptus came across as thoughtful, honest and on point. They immediately understood the project and their vision was very similar to our own.”

Work will commence this month on the £250,000 redesign of the space, which will provide a range of surgical and non-surgical aesthetic treatments in a modern and welcoming environment. The new LASE Cosmetic clinic will open for business in the autumn and it is hoped several jobs will also be created as the team expands over the next year.

Mr Ali-Khan went on: “We’ll have a core of clinical and administrative staff based at the clinic full-time, and we’ll also have some part-time colleagues who will offer private services from the premises. At our new Jesmond clinic we are excited to be introducing treatments and machines that aren’t available anywhere else in the region.”

The Jesmond, a £6.4m regeneration project, was undertaken by MK Partnership and offers a range of office and retail space totalling 2,000sqm which is being marketed by Knight Frank’s Newcastle office.

Chris Price, commercial director at Aptus said: “We pride ourselves on our attention to detail and delivery of very high standards. We are very pleased to have the opportunity to transform this unique space into the new LASE Cosmetic clinic.

“The Jesmond offers a range of superb office and retail accommodation positioned in an established suburban location, so is very well suited to a clinic of this type. As well as being easy to get to by car and well served by public transport, the location allows for the necessary discretion that cosmetic clinics can require.”

Established for more than 12 years, Aptus, based in Hoult’s Yard, works to provide a comprehensive design and space planning service with full project management across multiple sectors, including office, retail, leisure and healthcare. The team has recently completed office fit-outs for Mediaworks and The Hanro Group, retail projects for Ramsdens and 200 Degrees Coffee, and is currently delivering four orthodontics clinics throughout the UK.
