Hopping Across The North East From Hub To Hub

North East Furniture company launches and sets its sights on expansion

A North East furniture company specialising in unique furniture for the discerning homeowner or office is on track to turn over £135k in its first year in business as it embarks on ambitious expansion plans.

RESS Furniture produce custom-made furniture made from high-quality steel, marble, glass and wood. Its selection of console, coffee and side tables as well as breakfast bars and mirrors have proved hugely popular – not just in the North East but nationally and even internationally!

Since its inception during the pandemic in November 2020, RESS Furniture whose production factory is based in Wallsend, has produced over 300 pieces of furniture that have been shipped across the UK & Ireland. The company is now gaining interest from international clients in the Middle East and South East Asia.

With a team of six behind the company, RESS Furniture intends to expand its team across its administration, design and assembly departments as the company continues to grow.

Company director, Grant Davidson commented: “RESS Furniture specialises in the design, manufacture and supply of fully assembled custom made furniture. We create all of our pieces predominately from steel, which is paired with marble, glass or wood to create unique modern furniture to fit any style of home.

“With the company only being established in November 2020, we have had a very successful 11 months.

“With increasing interest from the international market, we are focusing our efforts on producing furniture and accessories that can be shipped with ease to locations outside of the UK, including four types of mirror that we’re looking to release in November.”

Prior to launching RESS Furniture, Davidson had a successful career in sales and business development for a construction company, travelling access Europe and the Middle East for over eight years. He eventually set sail back to his home region to join his parent’s engineering business, Rotational Engineering*.

Having built a strong background in design and manufacturing, Davidson identified a niche in the market for custom fabricated steel furniture for the home, workplace and leisure industries. Drawing on the expertise of his family’s business and his own professional background, Davidson launched RESS Furniture.

With several major commercial contracts in the pipeline along with a number of new products under development, 2022 is set to be an exciting and successful year for the new company.
