Although there was less than expected footfall it was a good start, and of great encouragement, to make the North East Home Expo an annual event. Positive feedback from the exhibitors will be certain to make the event grow, and for the word to spread to other trades within the design, build and home improvement sectors.
Jonathan Park, owner of 2020 Lifestyle, decided to launch a show designed for both public and trade, to learn more about local businesses from the home build industry, and to find out more on how they work. After approaching Teesside based events company, In The Fast Lane Events, the North East Home Expo was launched.
The North East Home Expo was held on Friday & Saturday, in the Legends Lounge at Middlesbrough Football Club, and was open to the public between10am until 4pm on both days. It was a great opportunity for people that were looking to build a new home or to renovate their existing home to speak with the specialists about making their dream home visions a reality. In turn giving exhibitors the chance to generate new business and engage with other professions from the custom, build & design trades.
Jonathan, who specialises in custom installation projects, says “The main objective was to create a show in which the customer could have the opportunity to come along to meet and chat with local businesses, from within the North East. The right people who can help you create your perfect design, and then create your perfect home. We had a number of visitors over the weekend purely looking to build a new home, and were looking for general advice, where others had started the build process and were looking to kit out their home with new technology. When I first came up with the idea of the event I wasn’t too sure if the idea would go ahead, but working with In The Fast Lane Events has reassured me that I was on the right track & I now want go on to make the expo an annual event”
Next year the North East Home Expo would welcome interest from more trades and businesses, including interior designers, bathroom & kitchen specialists, ensuring more exhibitors will be on hand to help the public with their design and build questions.
