Members of the North East arm of insolvency and restructuring trade body R3 have swapped figures for fundraising to bring in a four-figure sum for one of the region’s best-known charities.

After The Percy Hedley Foundation was adopted by R3 North East as its dedicated charity, its members, who are drawn from many of the best-known names in the region’s professional services community, took on a number of different fundraising activities, including raffles, quiz nights and a golf day.
And after all the money raised was added up, a cheque for £1,780 was presented to Sheila Coltman, corporate partnerships manager at The Percy Hedley Foundation, in front of dozens of R3 North East members at their annual general meeting.
The Percy Hedley Foundation plays a crucial role in improving the lives of children, young people and adults with cerebral palsy and communication difficulties.
Its high quality, specialist and personalised care and education services allow more than 1,000 people to become as independent as possible and to lead full and active lives.
R3 is the UK’s  insolvency and restructuring trade body, and promotes best practice for professionals working with financially-troubled individuals and businesses.
Neil Harrold, outgoing chair of R3 in the North East and a partner with Hay & Kilner Law Firm, says: “The Percy Hedley Foundation has been providing invaluable assistance and advice to families across our region for generations, and we’re very pleased to be supporting the fantastic work that it does through our members’ fundraising efforts.”
Sheila Coltman adds: “All the things that we do and the plans we have for the future wouldn’t be possible without the help of individuals, groups and organisations like R3 North East.”
