Leading North East PR firm, MHW PR is continuing to flourish in its 15th year with the appointment of two new faces to its account management team.
The Newcastle-based PR firm has recruited senior account manager, Vanessa Robinson and account manager, James Dunbar, to manage the consultancy’s growing list of top business-to-business, specialist and trade and technical accounts.
Vanessa has worked with a number of the region’s businesses over the past 15 years managing media, marketing, communications and PR activity in the business services, education, leisure and tourism and medical devices sectors.
She has a wealth of experience in business-to-business communications and joins the MHW team from destination management agency, NewcastleGateshead Initiative, where she led on media and communications activity for inward investment and business tourism. Vanessa will work with the directors on some of the agency’s key business-to-business and consumer accounts, as well as supporting new business activity.
Vanessa said: “It’s an exciting time to join the business as it celebrates its 15thanniversary. MHW is a highly respected agency and one of a few to weather the storm of the deep recession and retain many long-standing clients during those challenging times.”
Account manager, James Dunbar, graduated with a degree in History from the University in Salford in 2013, went on to complete a Masters in War Studies at Kings College in London. His media and communications experience comes from working at various PR agencies in London and Manchester, primarily in the aerospace, defence, security and public sectors.
James will be applying this experience – and that gained from his roles before he attended university in facilities management and PR in the finance and transportation sectors – to manage a number of MHW PR’s trade and technical accounts.
James said: “Having recently returned to my native North East, I’m delighted to join the team at MHW as account manager. We have a fantastic portfolio of clients which is ever expanding. As I’m primarily working with our trade and technical clients such as CMR, ISO-Chemie, EnAppSys, IHMA and Cedrec, it allows me to build on my previous experience and capitalise on my research skills.”
Led by directors Wayne Halton and Ian Watson, MHW is a PR-led multi-service consultancy that works with some of the region’s top organisations including, Gateshead College, 21 Hospitality Group, EDF Energy and Clouston Group.
Wayne Halton, director at MHW PR, added: “Vanessa and James bring a mix of the right skills, experience and expertise to support our clients which I’ve no doubt will add significant value to the work we produce for them. The timing for both of them joining the team couldn’t be better; we’ve had series of new project wins and we’re managing growth again so they both have an integral role to play in the success of our next 15 years.”
