A NORTH EAST solicitors is on course for further growth, after three new appointments.
Durham-based EMG Solicitors has gone from strength to strength since it was launched by Court of Protection specialist, Emma Gaudern in 2014.
And as part of its long term plan to continue strengthening both its team and its offering to clients, the company has promoted solicitor Ros Danson into a business development role.
Ros, originally from South Shields, joined EMG last year as part of the family law division, but has now taken on the new challenge which is giving her the opportunity to oversee the firm’s growth plans.
“As EMG began to grow there was an increasing need for someone with the right skills to help build key relationships to help promote our legal services,” said Ros.
“I was delighted when I was offered the opportunity to take that role and to be able to play an integral part in helping EMG build on its current success.”
Ros’s change of role comes at the same time as the appointment of two new legal secretaries.
Patricia Oliver, who has more than 40 years’ experience, joined EMG from solicitors in Chester-le-Street along with legal secretary Allison Coverdale, who has worked for firms in Newcastle, Sunderland and Durham.
The firm, based at Rivergreen Business Centre, Durham now has 14 staff and works across a range of areas including conveyancing and family law, along with having a nationally recognised reputation for Court of Protection work.
Managing Director Emma Gaudern has years of experience acting as a Professional Deputy for children and adults with complex brain injuries arising from personal injury and also manages millions of pounds worth of trusts on behalf of clients.
“Because we are continuing to grow at a very steady pace, it made absolute sense for us to appoint someone to oversee our business development and Ros was the perfect person to get that promotion,” said Emma.
