AN AWARD-WINNING North East law firm is celebrating its continued growth, with four new appointments.
EMG Solicitors, based at Abbeywoods Business Park, Durham has strengthened three of its areas of expertise, after recruiting new members to its conveyancing, litigation and family law teams.
Teesside-born Matthew Sigsworth has joined the company from Ramsdens in York, bringing with him a wealth of experience.
Matthew, from Middlesbrough, specialises in litigation, general disputes and employment issues and said he was delighted to join EMG.
“I am very impressed by the rate at which the business is growing and how successful it is,” he said. “It is also a place where there are lots of opportunities to develop my own career.”
Also now part of the team is Saira Farook, who has worked across a number of areas but now specialises in conveyancing.
“I joined EMG because of the importance put on the relationship between directors and other staff,” she said. “Our opinions and input are valued and our morale and happiness at work are considered important.”
Her words are echoed by Gemma Holmes, who is an associate solicitor specialising in family law and matrimonial cases.
Gemma has more than 12 years of experience in working on cases involving arrangements for children, pre-nuptial and cohabitation agreements, along with promoting non-confrontational resolution of disputes.
At this time she works one day a week at Teesside University on a pro bono basis, supervising third year law students in their work on real cases.
“At EMG there is a constant buzz in the office and it’s bursting at the seams with enthusiastic, creative and hard working people at every level,” said Gemma.
The company is also adding to the team at its recently opened Newcastle office, after being joined by Associate Solicitor, Francesca Angelucci, who has returned to the North East after working in London.
Francesca specialises in residential conveyancing and will be based at the Gosforth High Street branch.
Managing Director, Emma Gaudern, said she was delighted to welcome the new recruits.
“EMG is going is from strength to strength and bringing in Matthew, Saira, Gemma and Francesca as part of our team is good news for everyone,” she said.
EMG Solicitors was launched by Emma Gaudern and Director, Jemma Morland in 2014.
Initially launched with a handful of staff, the company moved to Abbeywoods Business Park in 2016 to accommodate the growth in the range of legal services it offers as well as its expanding team.
Now it has more than 40 solicitors and support staff working across Court of Protection work, deputyships, wills, trust and probate, residential and commercial conveyancing, civil and commercial litigation and family law.
