North East based business telecommunications provider Soho66 has been nominated for a prestigious national industry award for the fifth consecutive year.

The Voice over IP (VoIP) provider, which provides telephone systems that run through an internet connection rather than a traditional landline connection, has been nominated for the ‘Best ITSP (Small Enterprise)’ award at this year’s ITSPA Awards – taking place next week.

It means Soho66 will be defending their crown in this landmark year, having won the award at last year’s annual ceremony. The award commemorates the company providing the best all-round VoIP solution to start-ups and small enterprises across the entire UK.

It marks the fifth year in a row that Soho66 has flown the flag for the north east by being nominated for an award at the national ITSPA (Internet Telephony Services Providers Association) Awards – which is the industry body representing the growing VoIP sector.

Reaching the final involved Soho66’s entire software platform undergoing a period of stringent technical testing by an independent third-party body, in addition to a detailed written entry form covering business performance, innovation and customer service being evaluated by a panel of judges.

The ITSPA Awards is one of the standout events across the whole industry calendar, and the provider, which builds and designs its entire service platform in-house at their Sunderland HQ, has enjoyed previous success at the awards – winning the ‘Best ITSP (Small Enterprise)’ in 2016; the ‘Best ITSP (Medium Enterprise)’ in 2015; and reaching the finals at every annual ITSPA Awards since 2013.

As one of the leading VoIP providers in the UK, Soho66 serves around 40,000 businesses across the country and overseas. The firm, along with its other brands that all trade under the ‘Pebbletree Ltd’ umbrella, employs around 25 staff from their North Sands Business Centre office in Sunderland.

The awards ceremony will take place on Tuesday next week (May 9th) at what promises to be a lavish affair at the Tower of London in the Capital.
