If you are an upcoming singer, there is only ONE person you need in your corner, the new Simon Cowell, talent spotting extraordinaire, Dean ‘Midas’ Maynard.
Fresh from being an official part of Louisa Johnson’s X Factor winning team, Dean Midas Maynard from Durham, set out to pick his own team for the Voice 2016. A title he was looking to regain after having the 1st (Stevie McCrorie) and 2nd (Lucy O’Byrne) last year. Last night (20th March) 11 of his acts made the live shows. A pretty remarkable achievement.
Dean was also part of the PR team, that helped Joe & Jake win Eurovision: You Decide. The lads are now off to Stockholm in May, to represent the UK.
Dean is no stranger to success. In 2006, he picked out Leona Lewis from her very first audition, in 2010 he championed One Direction, long before their global success, he also championed and promoted Ben Haenow to the X Factor title in 2014. In fact, since 2006, Dean’s record stands Twenty Five 1st’s, Fourteen 2nd’s and Eleven 3rd’s.
Dean said “If Simon or one of the big TV executives are reading this, they should give me a job, there is no one better than me in the UK, at spotting singing talent”
