North P&I Club Strengthens IT Department to Support Growth

Newcastle-based North P&I Club has further strengthened its IT Team with the appointment of three new staff to support the company’s information technology strategy going forward. Logan Cox and Jack Gallacher have joined the 33-strong in-house IT team as Infrastructure Technicians and Caroline Lunn has joined as Project Manager.

Caroline Lunn has over 20 years’ experience in IT roles across manufacturing, technology and service sectors, the last 10 of which in a project management role. Caroline is responsible for managing North’s business change projects, including the replacement of a number of key business systems. Caroline said, “I joined North P&I Club as I was enthused by their IT Strategy which included significant investment in their IT infrastructure and the roll out of business change projects which are due for delivery over the next year”.

Logan Cox has joined North’s Infrastructure team following the completion of his technical apprenticeship and experience as an Applications Analyst at the BPDTS Ltd. He is responsible for supporting the team in the design and due diligence for new and changing technology, as well as providing technical assistance and creating and maintaining system documentation.

Jack Gallacher has also joined North’s Infrastructure team and his role is varied, with responsibilities including the maintenance of the core IT infrastructure and looking at ways to improve current IT systems. Jack previously worked as an Assistant System Engineer for Tata Consultancy Services.

Both Logan and Jack are looking forward to taking on more responsibility and learn within their roles. Logan said, “This new role will enable me to further my technical knowledge and I’m pleased to be part of a culture that encourages learning and development.” Jack said, “This is a great opportunity to challenge myself in such a positive environment, giving the ability to apply my news skills.”

North’s 33 strong in-house IT team are based at North’s headquarters in Newcastle upon Tyne supporting the company’s global office infrastructure. James Holmes, Chief Information Officer said, “North is a global service business and our IT strategy is focussed on ensuring that our staff have the technology and support to meet the requirements of our shipowner members.
