Hopping Across The North East From Hub To Hub

Northern Skills Group launches breakfast club with a skills twist

BUSINESSES from across the North East are being offered skills for breakfast, thanks to an event hosted by Northern Skills Group.

The expert apprenticeships and training provider is inviting business people to attend a business breakfast with guests on Wednesday, 12 July at Middlesbrough College’s STEM Centre, at which they can learn digital marketing skills.

Middlesbrough-based pay-per-click advertising specialists Mabo Media will offer attendees a masterclass in getting the most out of Google Adwords to grow business.

Northern Skills Group’s team will also provide information on how to take advantage of the Government’s latest changes to apprenticeships.

The “Skills for Breakfast” event at Middlesbrough College’s STEM Centre is the first of many events that will see speakers from different backgrounds give expert insights.

James Lees, head of marketing at Mabo Media, said: “This event gives businesses a fantastic opportunity to get valuable online marketing insight from our head of paid search, Rob Jackson.

“One of the main reasons Mabo Media has such a great reputation in the world of PPC and digital marketing is because of the fantastic work Rob and his team do.

“Usually it is just clients of Mabo Media who get the chance to hear Rob’s ideas and insight on pay-per-click advertising so this event certainly poses a rare opportunity.”

Mabo Media is classified by Google as being in the top one percent of pay-per-click agencies in the UK.

The team will teach attendees how to get started on the Google Adwords platform and how to use it to connect with potential customers.

Peter Wilson, Northern Skills Group director, added: “We’re excited to be kicking off the Skills for Breakfast events with Mabo Media.

“This is a great opportunity for businesspeople to learn more about a discipline that is critical to future success, and finding out about some of the commercial benefits of taking on apprenticeships.

“Northern Skills Group’s approach to training is about being a centre of resource for our regional business community and meeting its needs. Events like this are an important part of that strategy.”

Attendees will be served tea or coffee and breakfast while they hear from the speakers, before an opportunity to network.

“Skills for Breakfast” takes place on Wednesday, July 12 between 8am and 10am at the STEM Centre, Dock Street, Middlesbrough, TS2 1AD.
