One of Teesside’s leading independent Wealth Management businesses is celebrating a successful year by bolstering its team following continued growth.

Novus Wealth Management, based in Wynyard Business Park has appointed a new paraplanner, Alice Fox to support its delivery of financial planning services for clients including regional SMEs and high net worth individuals.

The firm has clients across the UK and a strong reputation in the North East for delivering friendly and bespoke specialist services including pensions, financial planning and corporate services.

Alice joins the business having worked for a number of years with Darlington Building Society as a mortgage adviser and within financial wealth management.

She previously gained a CeMAP in Mortgage Advisory, IFS Diploma in Financial Services Management (DipFSM) and qualified as a Financial Planner in 2017 by completing the CII Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning (DipPFS).

Novus Wealth Management, which currently manages around £200 million in client assets, offers excellent opportunities for progression and is also investing in its staff, helping its Account Executive, Lauren Brown undertake her CII FA2 Pensions Administration exam.

The firm is keen to bring new blood into the finance sector and champions Continuing Professional Development and ongoing training for its employees.

Speaking about her new role, Alice said: “Everyone here at Novus Wealth Management has been so welcoming and I’m enjoying my new role.

“I find the most interesting aspect of working in financial planning is getting an insight into the lives of our clients. We often get a glimpse of the most important stages in people’s lives, so it’s a great privilege to be working with our clients to help them achieve their goals.”

Account Executive Lauren Brown commented on her ongoing training: “I’d originally trained as a journalist before deciding to change my career. I’ve been a part of the Novus team since 2016 and I’m pleased to be working towards my professional qualifications.

“The team have been very supportive and learning while in post has been so helpful. My exams cover various aspects of wealth management but I’m particularly looking forward to the next few months’ focus on pensions which is such a large part of our offer to clients.”

Jon Sturrock, Managing Director at Novus Wealth Management, said: “We’re thrilled to welcome Alice to the team. She’s a talented paraplanner and we’re sure she’s going to have a rewarding career as part of the team here.

“We’re passionate about bringing fresh talent into financial services – it’s crucial that we continue to offer opportunities to those entering the industry, as well as helping to upskill people from within the sector by providing them with opportunities for growth and professional development. We’re pleased to be supporting our colleague Lauren as she looks to gain new qualifications in financial planning.”

The firm maintains that new talent within the sector is crucial for North East businesses.

Jon added: “In a challenging global environment, it’s critical that regional businesses have access to high quality financial planning services, and bringing in more talent to the sector will help to ensure there are enough skilled planners to meet the ongoing demand.”

Novus Wealth Management is actively seeking new recruits across all sectors of the business, including paraplanners.
