NRG is part of a new initiative driven by the private and public sector throughout the North East, with the aim of changing perceptions of working in the customer contact industry.

The customer contact industry is experiencing huge growth due to re-shoring work from abroad, with over 3,700 new job announcements being made over the past year. NRG is part of a group, comprising the seven local authority investment teams, LEPs and other partners, to collectively develop an action plan ensuring contact and shared service centres have the flow of people required to succeed.

The North East Customer Contact Partnership aims to work together with the region’s contact and shared service centres promoting career progression opportunities through positive PR and engagement activities, to attract new talent to the sector.

The first collaboration event to be held is on 12th September launched by Ann-Marie Stagg, CEO of CCMA, Call Centre Management Association. Ann-Marie will provide an overview of the challenges and opportunities for the sector and set the scene before moving on to facilitated discussions in groups to debate key issues, gauge the appetite for a regional forum and agree some practical actions, priorities and next steps.

Ann-Marie Stagg, CEO of CCMA comments “The Call Centre Management Association have a strong relationship with Contact Centres in the North East and are delighted to be involved with this initiative. The sector has huge strengths and working together to raise standards will help it to realise its growth potential”.

Julie Mordue, Client Relationship Manager at NRG adds ‘The North East is home to some of the world’s largest brand names and has many fantastic success stories which are to be celebrated. NRG is delighted to support this initiative to showcase career opportunities and change the sector’s poor image”.

The event is open to senior decision makers in Contact Centres and Shared Service Centres with HR, Recruitment, Marketing or operational backgrounds.
