Oastbrook Invites Wine Friends To Shop The New Normal

Oastbrook Estate in Robertsbridge is sharing a taste of English springtime with food and wine lovers who are in quarantine and unable to get out and enjoy the beautiful Sussex countryside.

America Brewer, owner and winemaker at the idyllic vineyard retreat in the heart of Sussex, is determined to share the joy of fine food and wine – especially while Oastbrook is currently unable to welcome visitors for tours and tastings in the sunshine.

In partnership with Hawkins Brothers, who sell English wines exclusively from their shop in Milford, Surrey, the Sussex estate is offering a special wine and cheese Oastbrook Hamper.  This basket of tasty treats is perfect for those celebrating a birthday or anniversary at home, or simply for a little lockdown luxury.  Priced £55 (+ £9.50 postage) the hamper contains: Oastbrook Sparkling Rosé 2014 (from Sussex), Godminster Vintage Organic Cheddar (from Somerset) and two bunches of Secrett’s of Milford asparagus (from Surrey).

Oastbrook’s 2014 vintage is the premium producer’s first Sparkling Rosé – a winner of four awards in 2019 and an unusual blend of Auxerrois and Pinot Noir. It is a limited release and so an ideal choice for wine lovers looking to discover new tipples from the now world-famous vineyards of Sussex.  In addition to cheddar and asparagus, these bubbles pair perfectly with a seafood cocktail, smoked salmon, a risotto with truffle oil or white fish like haddock or sea bass.

America Brewer comments, “We are working with amazing wine friends because even during these strange and uncertain times, we want to bring a smile to people’s faces.  A taste of stunning wine and the season’s finest foods can do that.  Right now, we can’t welcome people to visit Oastbrook, but by pulling together we can invite everyone to enjoy exceptional wines and cook up something simple and wonderful like an asparagus quiche or a baked cheese or a creamy risotto.  At the same time, our customers can support local businesses and farmers and we are making charity donations.  By staying positive like this, we can all get through these difficult days.”

The Oastbrook Hamper is available from Hawkins Brothers, priced £55 (+ £9.50 postage).

For wine lovers around the UK, Oastbrook Estate’s online shop also remains open, where customers can browse, discover, and then purchase award-winning sparkling and still quality English wines.  These can be bought as single bottles, or in mixed tasting cases.  Oastbrook is currently offering a 10% discount and making a 5% donation to local charity, The Friends Of Conquest Hospital (in East Sussex).  Customers placing online orders over £72 can use code ROSEHANDCLAP at checkout.
