This major investment in the latest technologies supplied by global leading technology partner Acentic will allow Crowne Plaza Newcastle to surpass any other hotel technologies around the city.

Set to be the top choice conferencing venue in the city, the hotel will guarantee complimentary wi-fi to all visitors and the very latest conference and event technology required by business travellers.

Each of the 251 bedrooms will have an individual wi-fi signal to prevent any black spots and will feature Panorama NG technology that creates an interactive media hub so that guests can view and stream movies, music or video content from their own devices to the in-room TV.

It was always the intention of Clouston Group, the owner and developer of the hotel – operated under a management contract with InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG®) – to ensure the venue became the most luxurious and modern destination in the city.

Andrew Fox, General Manager of Crowne Plaza Newcastle, said: “We realised the importance of having the most up to date technologies within the hotel, so chose the supplier very carefully. Acentic is a global leader in hospitality technology with unrivalled experience in delivering world class IT and hotel TV solutions.

“Our hotel will offer the largest state of the art conference and banqueting space in central Newcastle and Acentic will allow us to offer our guests the very latest event technology.”

Richard Robinson, Acentic Chief Executive, said: “We are delighted to be partnering with Crowne Plaza Newcastle and look forward to delivering their guests an outstanding technology experience.

“Panorama NG offers the best in-room TV and movie entertainment, as well as allowing the hotelier to reach out to the guest through its bespoke interfaces.”

Once complete, the stylish Crowne Plaza Newcastle – Stephenson Quarter will offer the largest single conferencing and banqueting space in Newcastle city centre.

The main conferencing suite – uniquely shaped Stephenson Suite – will seat and cater around 400 people. The hotel will also offer eight adaptable meeting rooms that can accommodate small seminars of 12 people up to large private meetings of 32 and delegate meetings of 100.
