Pacifica-Vikki 50Vikki Weston, Group Human Resources Director at Pacifica

Pacifica, the UK’s leading domestic appliance services provider, has promoted Vikki Weston to Group Human Resources Director.

With more than 20 years of professional experience in this sector, Vikki will lead Pacifica’s HR department and focus on the Group’s ‘People Strategy’, which works to retain and recruit staff as well as recognise their hard work.

The largest independent appliance repair company in the UK, Pacifica undertakes more than 350,000 repairs every year and employs more than 240 engineers.

Vikki accidentally entered the world of Human Resources after joining a “forward thinking” glazing business as personal assistant to the managing director who recognised the importance of HR and offered to facilitate Vikki’s professional development.

In the space of five years, Vikki achieved Level 4 NVQ in Business Admin, a CIPD degree in Personnel Development and graduated from the University of Huddersfield with a master’s degree in Human Resource Management in 2000.

Joining as Group Human Resources Manager at Pacifica in 2012, Vikki was then promoted to Head of Human Resources in 2020. She oversaw Pacifica go from having less than 200 staff to a workforce of over 450.

A recent project included ‘A Day in the Life of an Engineer’, which entails directors at Pacifica accompanying engineers for a day to gain insight into their work. Vikki said: “This is a relatively simple way of gaining invaluable feedback from our people on the ground who otherwise would not come into contact with our company directors.”

Also, to coincide with Pacifica’s 20th birthday in November this year, Vikki will oversee a campaign to shine a spotlight on various departments within Pacifica, which will culminate in an anniversary on the 17th November and where colleagues will be given the opportunity to celebrate this milestone at the company’s Christmas party early December.

Vikki said: “I am delighted to take up my new role, which will oversee more than 450 colleagues. It is a testament to Pacifica’s dedication to personal and professional development.

“It is important to us that, as we continue to grow with teams based throughout the country, we find ways to maintain our high levels of engagement and support for our people. We are always developing new and innovative ways to support and reward colleagues, which contributes to the high levels of service we provide to our customers”.

Kevin Brown, Chief Executive Officer of Pacifica, said: “We are pleased that Vikki has taken up her new position as Group HR Director, where she will continue to focus on how to get the best out of our employees.

“It is vital to recognise hard work, dedication, and professional development. That is why it is hugely rewarding to promote Vikki, who has a wealth of experience spanning two decades, and ensures the business and our colleagues are in safe hands.”
